James 1:12
12Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
This is my favorite verse. I love the idea of perseverence, i think it is one of the best character traits that a christian can have. In verse four of James one it talks about how perserverence must finish its work. I think that this is a great illustraion of perserverence. I have been trying to bring up Jesus and Christianity to my friends and some are really interseted and others kinda just bash the idea of Jesus, and just recently my friend told me that i was gullable for believing this stuff, and that i believe everything i hear, and that really affended me. i really just wanted to snap at her and tell her that you have no right to say that, but instead i told her that i have the truth and i believe in it and that someday i will be "livin it up" with JESUS CHRIST in Heaven and she will be in Hell wishing she was with me, and i think that it kinda convicted her becasue she really had nothing to say, she just sat there quit. When us as Christians get put down, bashed, or made fun of we NEED to perservere. God put us all on earth for a reason to finish his work, and the only way we are going to be able to do that is if we perservere. We just finished up the Pslams and i think that David showed amazing perserverence. The Lord has a purpose for all of us as it says in Psalm 138:88 The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O LORD, endures forever—do not abandon the works of your hands. And one of our main purposes here on this world is to preach Gods word pationitly with a burning fire of desire in our hearts. God will never leave us without words to say he guides us everyday of our lives, Psalm 73:24 You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Back up to James 1:12 and Psalm 73:21 we will have rewards waiting for us in Heaven for all of the hard work we put on this earth, so just keep persevering for God rewards those who honor his name.

Nice post Madison,
This verse is one that we should turn to often, recognizing that perseverance will develop our faith to its fullness
Nice to see you blogging :)
Ya, at school I am working on this kid to start going to our church. I invited him to the small groups so lets see what happens. We need to make it to the end with flying colors in life when He comes down. Also for school how its ending.
Once again, good job!
great blog maddison, i hope you have more comming.
you are right we all need to perservere all the time not only when we feel like it.
Madison you are right on girlie! As Christians we must persevere under trial, persecution and during times of abundant blessing, as we seek to glorify Him who has given us exceedingly and abundantly more than we could ever ask or receive. Keep running the race, keep fighting the fight knowing that God is on your side and if He is nobody can be against you. Pray for those who persecute you and disregard what you have to say and keep planting the seed. The harvest is plenty and the workers are few and that is why we are here, to spread His message of hope...the good news as we glorify Him. Keep up the blogs.
Much Love,
Vanessa

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." -2 timothy 7-8
